You can do this tour year round and the best period to climb is from May to November. During this period, the weather will be warmer during the day but can become quite cool in the evenings. It is generally clearer with less chance of rain and storms.

Tour details

Day 1: Laikim PNG will meet you at the Port Moresby Domestic Airport for check-in to your flight to Mount Hagen. From your arrival in Mount Hagen Laikim PNG will transport you to our lodging near Mount Wilhelm. 

Day 2-4: The breathtaking majesty of Mt Wilhelm awaits you, the crown jewel of Papua New Guinea and the highest peak in Oceania, soaring to an impressive 4,509 meters (14,793 feet). Known as Enduwa Kombuglu or Kombugl’o Dimbin in the local Kuman language, this granite giant offers a serene yet challenging adventure for hikers and nature enthusiasts. Nestled amidst lush alpine landscapes and sparkling glacial lakes, Mt Wilhelm provides panoramic views that are truly amazing. You are walking into three eco-systems, tropical, temperate forest and alpine.

Day 5: Laikim PNG will transport you to Mount Hagen where you will stay the night.

Day 6: Laikim PNG will transfer you to the Mount Hagen airport for your flight to Port Moresby. Upon arrival in Port Moresby the tour with Laikim PNG ends.

There is a minimum charge of $17,000 Australian dollars for this tour. For 5 or more people, you only pay $4,250 more per person twin-share or $5,400 per person single.

All prices on our website are in Australian dollars. If you would like to go on a tour, you can purchase it from our website immediately and pay using most major credit cards. If you would prefer not to use credit card, you can transfer us Australian dollars. If you would like to pay in Papua New Guinean Kina, you can transfer the equivalent amount in Kina to our bank account in Papua New Guinea. Please contact us so we can tell you the amount of Kina you should transfer and our bank account details.
